Life is full of crossroads—moments of joy and grief, belonging and uncertainty, questions and hope. Crossroads is a monthly youth gathering where we make space for all of it.

On the first Sunday of each month, students grades 5-12 gather around music, prayer, conversation, and real-world events. Together, we listen to one another, reflect on what is happening in our lives and in the wider world, and look for where God is present.

Fifth through seventh grade is an exciting time, full of change and transition for young people. During this developmental time, youth begin to think about and engage their faith in more abstract ways. Therefore, the focus in grades 5, 6, and 7 is where students see themselves in God’s story.

Exploring their relationship with God in new ways empowers youth to PREPARE for their life journey, as it gives them the tools and experience to always be watching for and asking, “What is God up to in my life?” Just as a hiking trip requires careful and purposeful packing and preparation, so does our faith. We think this type of preparation is best done by engaging the whole self – body, mind and spirit – so expect this time together to be interactive and dynamic.

Students meet on the second, third and fourth Sunday of the month from 4:00-5:00 pm in the Youth Room. Dinner is served for all ages from 5:00-5:30. Sign up to host a meal!

GUC’s 8-12 grade youth group is a supportive place where students can PITCH their tent and experience a sense of belonging as they continue to explore and find out who God has made them to be.

Our conversations focus on identity and topics relevant to the world in which they find themselves. Students are encouraged to discover who God has made them to be, what God might be calling them to do, and how the Christian faith informs and shapes their lives.
